Circle of Security in Early Learning: Understanding What Children Really Need

Every educator and parent has seen it: a child who throws a block across the room, refuses to join group time, or clings to the doorway at drop-off. It’s easy to focus on the behaviour and ask, “How do we stop this?” But the Circle of Security framework invites us to ask a different question: “What is this child trying to tell us they need?”
